After a day of seeing the Acer Aspire S3, Asus unveils its own ultrabook, the Zenbook which comes in two models (UX21 and UX31) and is set to be available in the US tomorrow. As common with most ultrabooks that we saw, the Zenbook looks like your MacBook Air with its ultra-thin front, aluminum chassis and the generous-sized touchpad.
The Asus Zenbook comes in either 11-inch (UX21) or 13-inch (display) and is powered by the 2nd generation Intel Core processors starting from a Core i3-2367 to a Core i7-2677. Asus claims that it’s the thinnest laptop around being just a measley 3mm at its thinnest point and 9mm at its thickest. The Acer Aspire S3 is 13mm at its thinnest.
We don’t have local pricing yet but in the US, price starts at $999 for the 11-inch and $1,099 for the basic 13-inch. A bit more expensive than the Acer but the specs make up for it.
