Earlier, Microsoft showed us two new touch mice to go along with the Arc Touch mouse we mentioned early this year. The Microsoft Touch and Explorer Touch uses the same BlueTrack precision tracking technology from Microsoft which offers users mouse accuracy in virtually any surface.

Microsoft Touch Mouse

The Microsoft Touch mouse is the current flagship mouse model having a nice, long, curved body that comfortable fist into an average-sized hand. Its click surface is also a touch area for multi-touch gestures of up to three fingers.
  • One finger can be used for scrolling, flicking, and panning
  • Two fingers can be uses to snap your windows side by side, or maximize and minimize
  • Three fingers are used to show all open windows or to show desktop

You need Windows 7 to fully utilize this mouse although you can install it on Vista, XP or Mac but you will only get the basic touch features. There’s also a touch area on the side for your thumb to do back/forward navigation while browsing.

It has a nano-transceiver that is cleverly stored underneath for easy storage. If your desktop is nowhere near your mouse, you can use the included USB extension cable for your nano-transceiver. It is powered by 2 AA batteries which are also included in the box. SRP for the Microsoft Touch Mouse is Php3,900.

Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse

The Microsoft Explorer Touch is similar to the Arc Touch Mouse with a touch strip to replace the scroll wheel of a regular mouse. This strip allows for one-touch scrolling, flick up, down and side to side to navigate. It has 5 click areas on its surface that you can assign shortcuts to favorite tasks or applications.

This is also a wireless mouse which has the same nano-transceiver which you can store underneath the mouse. It is also powered by 2 AA batteries that Microsoft claims can last you up to 18 months. This mouse comes in Sangria Red, Storm Grey and Coal Black and has a suggested retail price of Php2,500.
